Description
A female ruby-throated hummingbird sips nectar from a flowering azalea bush in the blue ridge mountains in the Spring of 2013. These amazing little bird's wings beat 40 to 80 beats per second! Despite their tiny size they are fearless little creatures and a true joy to watch.

Tack sharp, perfect light, hard to get this shot with that little motion blur of the wings, and he looks right in the lens, the framing is on a level only top photographers can deliver. The main subject is the bird and the flower is just enough in the frame to tell the story. A masterpiece. If I would collect bird prints, that is on the top of my list. ,V
