May in the Shenandoah National Park is fawn season! A newly arrived fawn nurses from it's mother. The does carefully hide their babies where they remained bedded down until mama returns to feed them. Only she knows where they are.If you do happen to stumble upon a fawn, leave them alone, they are not lost, mama doe knows exactly where she left it and will return.
