Description
A land mark evergreen tree that once stood at the beginning of a trail that leads into the meadow at Big Meadows in the Shenandoah National Park stood for year until one stormy day when strong winds toppled the tree. A local hiking group gave the tree a name "Piney". People can be seen paying there respects to piney stopping to take a selfie on ocassion. Here is "Piney" with his winter close when a fog decsened upon the meadow in freezing temps and left magical ice crystals on everything it touched in the meadow.
