Sometimes you get lucky. I first saw this rainbow on the way to work in the valley below. I had planned on coming to work a little early to get a photo from this spot of the changing foliage for the Park's social media posts. When I got to the top of the mountain I was surprised to see that the rainbow was still going strong! I jumped out of my car when I got to the overlook and still saw the rainbow. I set up the camera as quickly as I could to get some shots and to my surprise I was able to capture it before it faded a few minutes later. Sometimes the stars align!
A little about me: I was born and raised in California and Oregon so being outdoors was always an important part of my life. My family and I used to camp all up and down the California and Oregon Coast as soon as I was old enough to camp at the age of 4. The beauty of nature was a form of inspiration and healing to me and still is to this day. On our camping trips I made it a point to talk with the rangers at the visitor's centers and to learn about the native wildlife and plant life and even insect life of an area. Whenever I saw a new bird it was an exciting quest to find the name of the bird in our bird guide. My parents were not professional photographers but they planted the photography seed in me through example. I still...
