Artist's Description
As the sun rises over the blue ridge mountain range through the clouds, a dramatic scene of light play is created on the valley below. The mountain range seen in the distance is the Shenandoah National Park (where Skyline drive traverses over the mountain tops). The river reflecting the sunrise light is the South Fork of the Shenandoah River near the town of Luray, Virginia.
About Lara Ellis
A little about me: I was born and raised in California and Oregon so being outdoors was always an important part of my life. My family and I used to camp all up and down the California and Oregon Coast as soon as I was old enough to camp at the age of 4. The beauty of nature was a form of inspiration and healing to me and still is to this day. On our camping trips I made it a point to talk with the rangers at the visitor's centers and to learn about the native wildlife and plant life and even insect life of an area. Whenever I saw a new bird it was an exciting quest to find the name of the bird in our bird guide. My parents were not professional photographers but they planted the photography seed in me through example. I still...
