A beautiful pink and blue canvas painted by Mother Nature lights up the sky over the Shenandoah Valley in January 2015. Sometimes winter can be quite colorful despite the lack of leaves and green grass. Days like these make me very grateful to live here in the Shenandoah Valley indeed!

A little about me: I was born and raised in California and Oregon so being outdoors was always an important part of my life. My family and I used to camp all up and down the California and Oregon Coast as soon as I was old enough to camp at the age of 4. The beauty of nature was a form of inspiration and healing to me and still is to this day. On our camping trips I made it a point to talk with the rangers at the visitor's centers and to learn about the native wildlife and plant life and even insect life of an area. Whenever I saw a new bird it was an exciting quest to find the name of the bird in our bird guide.
