A juvenile peregrine falcon carves out her new hunting grounds at Big Meadows in the Shenandoah National Park where they have a sucessful reintroduction program to help these beautiful creatures make a come back. Although the U.S. Fish And Wildlife department has removed them from the endangered list, they are still on the threatened species list in Virginia.
About Lara Ellis
A little about me: I was born and raised in California and Oregon so being outdoors was always an important part of my life. My family and I used to camp all up and down the California and Oregon Coast as soon as I was old enough to camp at the age of 4. The beauty of nature was a form of inspiration and healing to me and still is to this day. On our camping trips I made it a point to talk with the rangers at the visitor's centers and to learn about the native wildlife and plant life and even insect life of an area. Whenever I saw a new bird it was an exciting quest to find the name of the bird in our bird guide.
