Morning views like this aren't normally something we see from our mountain vantage point in August. This is more typical of a spring or fall morning when the temps are cooler but this August in 2013 we are having an unusual cool stretch and were lucky enough to see this morning view. It's scenes like this that make me eternally grateful that we get to live in a place as beautiful as the Shenandoah Valley.
About Lara Ellis
A little about me: I was born and raised in California and Oregon so being outdoors was always an important part of my life. My family and I used to camp all up and down the California and Oregon Coast as soon as I was old enough to camp at the age of 4. The beauty of nature was a form of inspiration and healing to me and still is to this day. On our camping trips I made it a point to talk with the rangers at the visitor's centers and to learn about the native wildlife and plant life and even insect life of an area. Whenever I saw a new bird it was an exciting quest to find the name of the bird in our bird guide. My parents were not professional photographers but they planted the photography seed in me through example. I still...
